Dr Praveen Philip

General Dentistry, Implants, Endodontics, and Aesthetic Dentistry- Dr Praveen George Philip brings over 30 years of experience in dentistry, combining a strong academic background with a wealth of international clinical expertise. His practice covers a broad range of disciplines including oral surgery, implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and restorative dentistry, delivered with a patient-centred and compassionate approach.

Education and International Training- Dr Philip graduated from the AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangalore in 1995, before completing his Master’s Degree in Dental Surgery at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education in 1996. He has continued to expand his expertise through advanced postgraduate training worldwide, including:

• Certified course in Cosmetic Dentistry with Christopher Orr (UK).
• Certified course in Oral Implantology at the University of Salford (UK).
• Clinical courses at the University of Havana (Cuba).
• Specialist training with senior professors in Brazil and Egypt.
• Advanced implant training in São Paulo, Havana, and Alexandria.
• Extensive hospital-based training at the University Dental Hospital, Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust, and the Ipswich Hospital in Suffolk, covering Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Surgery, and Intravenous Sedation Dentistry.

In 2005, he was awarded the MFDS  higher qualification by the Royal College of Surgeons of England, cementing his professional recognition in the UK.

Clinical Experience- Dr Philip has provided care in both the UK and abroad, holding senior positions such as:

• General Dental Surgeon with the Ministry of Health, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Senior House Officer at the University Dental Hospital, Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust.
• Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Ipswich Hospital, Suffolk.

Across his 30 years in practice, he has treated a wide range of patients including NHS, private, insurance-based patients, and even diplomatic staff and families posted in London on behalf of their governments. He has also acted as a referral dentist for more than 70 practices across North London, managing over 1,800 referred patients for advanced treatments with excellent outcomes.

Academic and Teaching Contributions- In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Philip has contributed significantly to dental education. He previously served as Head of Department at RV Dental College and Hospital in India, where he played a key role in shaping undergraduate dental education. He has delivered numerous seminars to dental graduates, and served as a panel examiner and coordinator for an international university, ensuring high standards of undergraduate dental examinations.
